Home Screen Widgets

How to add Structured widgets to your home screen

Home screen widgets are a neat way to always keep an eye on your tasks. As the name already says, Home Screen widgets are straight on your home-screen and provide you with a quick glance at your upcoming tasks (not necessarily only today's tasks).

To save battery, widgets are limited in what they can do and sometimes can take a couple of minutes to update. If you are using Structured on iOS 17 you can interact with your widgets. By tapping the check mark next to a task on a widget you can complete the task without opening the app. In smaller widgets, where the check mark is not displayed, tapping on a task will open it in the app.

Add a widget to the Home Screen

The Home Screen Widgets come in three different sizes. To add them, follow these simple steps:

  1. From the Home Screen, touch and hold a widget or an empty area until the apps jiggle.
  1. Tap the Add button in the upper-left corner.
  1. Look for Structured, choose a widget, then tap Add Widget.
  1. Tap Done.

Widget types

With the update to Structured 3.2 you get access to a variety of different home screen widgets. The Timeline widget displays your timeline of the current day, including your all-day tasks. With the Inbox widget, you can get an overview of the tasks that await you in your inbox. And with the Single task widget you can see only your current task. A different version of this widget is the Subtask widget, which also displays every subtask of your current task.

Please note that the Inbox widget and the subtask widget are only avaiable on iOS 17.

Customize your widgets

There are several ways in which you can customize your Structured widgets. To make your widgets fit into the design of your home screen, you can adjust their sizes. Also, you can decide whether you want your timeline widget to display your all-day tasks or not and if you want the plus sign in the lower-right corner to be displayed. Please note, that customizing widgets is only available in iOS 17 and above.
